What Size Curtains Do I Need?

Curtain Width For taped top curtains we recommend that the width of curtain is roughly twice the width of the window. This allows enough curtain width for a generous 'gather.'

E.g. if a window measures 44" (112cm) wide, we recommend a pair of curtains 44" (112cm) wide. Each curtain is 44" (112cm) wide and therefore the total curtain width is twice the window width.

For eyelet top curtains and tab top curtains we simply recommend that the width of curtain is slightly less than twice the window (or pole) width.

Recommended widths

If your curtain pole or track width is:
i) Up to 50" ( 127cm)
ii) 51"- 78" (128cm-199cm)
iii) 79" - 118" (200cm -300cm)

Then the required width of each curtain is:
i) 44" (112cm)
ii) 66" (168cm)
iii) 90" (229cm)

Curtain Drop

The required drop of curtains depends on how far down they are required to hang. This is an individual choice. Our curtains are made in 3 standard drops; 54" (136cm), 72" (183cm) and 90" (229cm). Often curtains need to be altered to a required drop.
