Children's Bedroom Inspirations

Designing kids' bedrooms may be a daunting prospect but we urge you to go big! We think you can take advantage of our exciting range of textiles as an excuse to be as bold and brave as you want!

If you need a helping hand deciding how to style your child's bedroom take a look at our guide featuring our top four inspirations.

1. Vibrant 'Off The Wall' Colours

Bold and daring colours are all the rage in older children's bedrooms. Let your kids loose in your local decorating store and come back with an explosion of colours that clash and contrast. This can add a touch of personality to their newly designed bedroom. By giving them the freedom to design their own space, they will take pride in their room. We are not promising that they will keep it tidy though!

They may also be inspired by our psychedelic and 'out-there' pieces. What about our Soho Multi Striped Duvet Cover to get you started? Maybe our Padstow Marine Curtains? Or perhaps you can offer them our quirky animal duvet covers like this Monkey Business one?

2. Pastel Tones

Gender specific or neutral pastel colours are soft on the eyes and most likely to feature in nursery rooms in either pretty pinks, bonny blues, gentle greens or youthful yellows. The bedroom is a place to relax and the serene and calming pale pastel colours will offer soothing comfort for both parent and child.

Your can keep your bedroom simple with single colour painted walls and compliment the pastel tones with accented furnishings. Why not use our Supersoft Pink Blackout Curtains, our whimsical Birdhouse Duvet Cover or our Fluffy Pink Faux Fur Cushion Covers?

3. Vintage

Do you like using handmade arts and crafts pieces in your child's bedroom alongside pre-loved items? Perhaps you have antique furniture that has been passed down through the generations of your family in your child's bedroom, maybe you have created your own shabby chic furniture.

Completely charming, this design will give their bedroom a cherished and personal touch. You can even start stencilling your walls if you're brave enough, or perhaps paint your floorboards white and cover with vintage style furnishings.

Consider our cute Butterfly Jardin Net Curtains, cosy Vintage Petticoat Patchwork Bedspread or our quaint Ascot Peach Tape Top Curtains for that inviting feeling.

4. Timeless

It can be costly keeping up with the latest children's phases; after all, they change their minds about their favourite characters as often as they change their clothes. Why not stick with a timeless arrangement? The timeless design has staying power meaning that it is always fresh and relevant.

Keep your eyes out for that 'classic' look with pale and cream colours. You may draw inspiration from Greek or Roman architecture that utilises natural resources and fibres such as cotton and wood.

Our Time To Sleep Cot And Bumper Set is perfect for your baby's cot. If you want to add more to the timeless design, check out our Supersoft Arctic Fleece Blanket Throw or our Fluffy Blue Faux fur Cushion Cover. If your child is older how about this Nautical Boats Duvet Cover?
