At this time of year, home owners are on the lookout for ways to give their homes a new lease of life. As it’s just after Christmas, money can be pretty tight, so we thought we’d share a guide with you on how you can freshen up your home on a budget.
Start off by giving your home a deep cleanse
You’d be surprised at how different your home looks when clean and tidy – remove any unnecessary objects from surfaces and organise your possessions by popping them in cupboards and out of sight. Throw out the things in your home you’re not going to need to create space.
Freshen up your walls
If your walls are looking tired, giving them a lick of paint with help to freshen them up. If you’re feeling adventurous, why not opt for a bright colour to add a vibrant touch to your home? If you’re not feeling brave enough to go the whole hog, why not try just painting one wall to create a feature? Don’t be afraid to try something new in 2014.
Want to spruce up your furniture on a budget?
Furniture can be expensive to replace and if it’s in good knick, you can just update its look for the New Year. You could varnish or paint wooden furniture, change handles on drawers and add throws to old sofas to spruce them up. You don’t have to buy new furniture for your home, a bit of TLC will do the trick.
