When buying curtains it is reassuring to know what to look for and where to look for it.
Curtains can be the most important feature of a room.
Selecting a pole or track is determined by the curtain heading required.
Pencil Pleat, also known as Tape Top or 3" Curtains, is the standard heading for curtains and valances.
It is advisable to use a metal tape measure were possible when measuring for curtains.
To have a curtain valance (or Pelmet) up a window must have a curtain track. A valance cannot be hung with a pole.
Creases will fall out of most curtains over time but they can be pressed out before hanging.
Attaching thermal blackout linings to curtains will prevent light breaking through from outside a window and help to retain heat in a room.
Door Curtains or single curtains can be used to keep the draft out, keep warmth in, act as a divider between rooms or to protect privacy.
